Top Islands to Travel in 2023
We’ve compiled a list of the most popular islands to travel in 2023, based on where people are going and how many times they’ve visited.
Hawaii
Hawaii is a state in the United States. It’s made up of islands, and those islands are part of an archipelago called The Hawaiian Islands. There are eight main islands: Maui, Oahu (the most populated), Kauai and Hawaii are the big ones; Molokai and Lanai are smaller; Niihau is privately owned by a family who doesn’t allow visitors; Kahoolawe is uninhabited but was used as target practice during WWII until it was taken over by Native Hawaiians after they regained control over their land in 1993; Kaho’olawe isn’t really considered an island anymore because it was so damaged by bombs during World War II that not much remains on its surface today.
Hawaii’s climate varies depending on where you go–it can be rainy year-round or sunny all year long! The only thing constant about this place is its beauty: mountains topped with snow drifts against clear blue skies… palm trees lining sandy beaches… lush green valleys filled with wildflowers…
Tahiti
Tahiti is a French island in the South Pacific Ocean.
It is one of five islands that make up French Polynesia, an overseas territory of France. Tahiti is known for its beaches and water activities, such as scuba diving and snorkeling. The cuisine on Tahiti is also popular among tourists because it’s so delicious! The island has many fine restaurants where you can try local food like poisson cru (raw fish) or poulet boucanee (smoked chicken).
Tahitian culture has been influenced by European settlers over time, but there are still many traditional customs practiced today that have their roots in Polynesian tradition–such as dancing hiva ‘ekere (arm wrestling) competitions at festivals such as Te Fare Vai O Te Ra Ona Noa Festival every July 4th weekend since 2008; plus singing contests held during school holidays called Matamata’i Tahiti which means “to sing well”.
Maldives
Maldives is a group of islands in the Indian Ocean. It’s a popular tourist destination, and for good reason: white sandy beaches, clear blue water and plenty of opportunities to scuba dive.
If you’re looking for an island getaway that won’t break the bank (or your back), then Maldives should be at or near the top of your list. The country has over 1,200 coral islands scattered across its archipelago–so many that it’s often referred to as “The Maldives Archipelago.”
Bali
Bali is a great place to visit. It has many beaches and temples, as well as excellent surfing conditions.
Dominican Republic
The Dominican Republic is a lush, tropical country with many beautiful beaches. The people are friendly and welcoming, so it’s not hard to make friends if you’re traveling alone.
The food is delicious; try their empanadas (meat turnovers), tamales (corn cakes) or mofongo (steamed plantains). You can also enjoy some of their traditional drinks like rum punch or piña coladas!
There are many historical monuments that you can visit while in the Dominican Republic such as Fortaleza Ozama in Santo Domingo where Christopher Columbus first landed on December 5th 1492; La Isabela was founded by him here on January 2nd 1493 but was later abandoned after two years due to famine caused by poor planning & disease amongst other factors which caused them to move further inland towards what today is known as Puerto Plata City where they built another settlement called “La Nueva Isabela.”
Barbados
Barbados is an island country in the Caribbean Sea. It is located north of Trinidad and Tobago, northeast of Venezuela and south of Saint Vincent and the Grenadines. The island has a long history of English colonial rule, which ended in 1966.
Barbados has become one of the most popular destinations for tourists all over the world because it offers pristine beaches, beautiful sceneries and warm climate all year round. You can find white sand beaches on its east coast as well as coral reefs on its west coast; both are perfect for swimming or snorkeling activities during summer season (December through April). If you want to explore nature at its best, then visit St James National Park during springtime when flowers bloom in abundance!
Yucatan Peninsula
The Yucatan Peninsula is a peninsula in Mexico, located in the southeast of the country. It extends from Cancun to Campeche and has an area of approximately 40,000 km2 (15,500 sq mi). The peninsula comprises nearly two-thirds of Mexico’s land mass and its population is about 7 million people.[1]
